Historical Archive Museum

The Historical Archive Museum Hydra organ­izes every year high-level events such as art ex­hibitions, concerts, plays, lectures, book presen­tations, conferences, seminars, etc.

Some of the major exhibitors that have in the past performed at IAMY are: Tetsis, Hadjikyriakos-Gikas, Karas, Mavroidis, Fasianos, Tombazis, Katsoulidis, Kottis etc.

At the loft of IAMY, where you can enjoy great views of the harbor of Hydra. Greek singers and composers like Mario Frangoulis. Giannis Spa- nos, Giorgos Hatzinasios Thanos Mikroutsikos Evanthia Remboutsika, Lukianos Kilaidonis, Notis Mavroudis, Nena Venetsanou, Savina Yannatou, Aliki Kagialoglou, Pantetis Thalassinos, Stephanos Korkolis, Ellie Paspala, Eleni Peta etc.

In the same area we can enjoy world famous classical music ensembles.

A series of exciting cultural events is on the agenda of the Historical Archive-Museum of Hydra for the up­coming summer.


  • From the end of June and up to 11th of Au­gust. in cooperation with Didier Guillon from VALM0N Group and the Artigas Institute of Catalonia, the exhi­bition "Plats d'Artistes”(Artists' Dishes) based on ce­ramic plates painted by famous European painters, will take place.
  • 20 May-23 June. An exhibition of art photography named “Hydra of colors and stone" will take place with the assistance of the local newspaper "Foni tis Ydras". Following a noble decision of the newspaper team (FTY). revenues from sales of any photographs, wll be donated towards the Historical Archive-Museum of Hydra.


  • Lecture:"Journey to Agio Oros" by Dr Far- makis, in cooperation with the Cultural Association of Hydra.
  • July 20. Piano recital by internationally renowned pianist Alain Lefevre. in cooperation with the Canadian Embassy and the Cultural Association of Hydra.


  • From mid-August to late September an amazing painting exhibition featuring works by the re­nowned Greek painter who lives and works in Paris. John Kotti, will be held
  • From late-August to late September another ma­jor display of stamps, entitled "Lighthouses of the World", run in association with the Maritime Muse­um of Crete, Post Office and Lighthouse Department of the Navy will take place.
  • Music concert by Eleni Vitali.


  • Documentary presentation re­garding Hydra's past history. This German production is translated into Greek by Professor N. Pantelides and is followed by a speech from Constantinople and Asia Minor researcher Mr. Theodore Kontaras.
